I'm super motivated right now to begin a campaign for skincare. These past few days I've been thinking.. Why should I spend so much money for foundations, concealers, highlighters when I can devote my time to improving my actual skin. There's no need to simulate good skin when I can get it!
There's age old techniques that stem from what you put into your body to what you put on the surface. Plenty of water, a good diet rich in antioxidants and vitamins, and a good skincare routine.
What inspired me to start this today was reading a thread on soompi. One poster brought up a blog at www.scform.com in where the blogger gives his secrets for beautiful skin. From the many soompiers' experience, his techniques work. Thus, I'll be religiously following his tips for the next few weeks.
Day:
Topical antioxidant or Tone correcting treatment
Sunscreen
Night:
Exfoliation product
Tone correcting treatment
In his post, he gives an abundance of hard science behind his skincare regimen. He lists products and mini reviews of them and how they've worked on his skin.
Thus, as my inspiration, I'm going to create my own change in routine.
1. Drink at least 8 cups of water everyday (I'm terribly bad at this!)
2. Eat plenty of fruit (guilty of this one too!)
3. Gentle cleansing of skin with scrubber (for daily exfoliation)
4. AHA in apple cider vinegar for a natural approach to exfoliation
5. Vitamin E oil facial massages
I'm looking into buying a Clarisonic Mia right now. Been reading tons of reviews online and watching them on YouTube. It seems like this would be the perfect solution to unclog & deeply clean my skin. However,... I don't know if I want to put down $150 for a fancy face brush. *sigh.
My goal is to be able to go out into the world, confident in my bare skin and be the image of religious skin care! Hopefully I'll be able to see some progress and get back to you on this blog about it.
Hi ViVi! Welcome to the world of cosmetic seduction hahaha! :) I know, we sometimes get so engrossed in buying makeup and neglect skin care which should be the number one priority. good thing you know where to concentrate on! what products do you use to achieve clear and even skin tone? :)
ReplyDeleteFor a start, I dot think I can drink at least 8 cups of water a day but I guess I can achieve the rest.
ReplyDeleteI heard about the ultrasonic brush, is it any good?
Welcome to beauty world =)

Hi ViVi! hey good idea about the nail polish and the wedding planning book!! <3
ReplyDeleteI have tried out so many types of skincare regimes that nowadays I just cleanse, moisturize and put on masks.
ReplyDeleteI would love to go for weekly facials but can't afford it at the moment!
Haha...water and fresh fruit is so difficult to do regularly for me... why can't nice skin be easier to achieve!
ReplyDeleteyou're lucky that the clarisonic is $150.. it's not available at sephora in canada so i had to get it for like $30 more at Holt Renfrew. i just posted before and after pics...so worth it!
